Food, Restaurants, and Local Attractions

The Essentials

Central Waters Brewing Company
Vinnie's hands ache from record breaking bottling Fridays, but his thirst is definitely quenched.  Open Friday and Saturday from 4pm 'til ??? We'll see you there on Friday night.

Christian's Bistro
Central Wisconsin's finest restaurant featuring local, organic food.

Café 27
A touch of France in Central WI. For the best breakfast and lunch in Stevens Point, check out this place for very local, organic fare. Deeeee-lish!

Clancy's Stone Lion
Everybody is Irish at Clancy's.  For homemade fixins and fine whiskey swing on by.  Best Ruben guarenteed.  Guiness gravy.  We're sure to be here at some point.
Morning Star Bistro
An Amherst favorite for that Sunday morning hangover cure. It's got the greasy breakfast buffet, but don't worry it's not coronary greasy. (Closed Tuesday)

Stevens Point Area Co-op
Small and sweet, this co-op is full of all sorts of goodness. Inside you'll find Earth Crust Bakery! Say "hi" to Marge for us.

Midwest Renewable Energy Association
This is where Gina works and one of the progressive hubs of our community. For more information about renewable energy and sustainable living, be sure to check out the MREA.

Natural Beauty
Sunset Lake- Our favorite lake to swim
Lake Elaine- Our other favorite lake to swim
Lake Emily- Another lake to swim
The Tomorrow River- One of Wisconsin's finest trout streams
The Chain of Lakes in Waupaca- Awesome natural area. Beware of Illinois mosquitoes:)
Hartman Creek State Park- Awesome natural area
Dells of the Eau Claire Natural Area- Beautiful granite river carvings

Handmade Beauty
Rising Star Mill- Nelsonville, WI
An old grain mill on the banks of the Tomorrow River
Millstone- Iola, WI
Our friend Tom bought the landmark building and is in the process of restoring and renovating this old mill that used to grind grain and mill lumber. His first order of business was building an amazing gelato bar and deli style restaurant, and then rebuilding the old hydroelectric generator to supply power to the business and electrical grid. He has big plans for this place. We try to support him as often as we can. Enjoy!
